Congregation Yad Shalom is committed
to providing opportunities to immerse each child in Jewish values,
culture, and traditions to enhance their love and connection to the
Jewish community. This committment is supported by our Shalom
Jewish Children and Religous Education programs.
Congregation Yad Shalom is pleased to
announce receipt of a 2006-2007 grant
and a 2007-2008 grant from The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, in
recognition of our dedication to pursuing excellence in congregational
education.
Congregation Yad Shalom supports continuous education
for adults through Hebrew Lessons and study of each week's Torah
parsha.
Shalom Jewish Children
Na'aseh v'nilmod - We will DO and we will LEARN
Shalom Jewish Children is an
education program for young children with Eema or Abbah. The program
is ideal for children ages one to four. Our 2007-2008 program schedule
is listed below.

The 2007-2008 program schedule
includes Shalom Jewish Children events, highlighted in green, and Congregation Yad Shalom events
that are particularly well suited for families with children of any
age.
You may use the directions on our site for programs that
take place at a Little Rocky Run Recreation Center.
If you are a Congregation Yad
Shalom member, participation in Shalom Jewish Children is included
in your membership.
If you are not a Congregation Yad
Shalom member, participation is $180 per year. This includes first year membership in Congregation Yad
Shalom. Please complete and submit your membership form!

Religous Education
Yad Shalom has a religious program
for grades Kindgergarten to Confirmation post Bar/Bat Mitzvah in
association with Congregation
Adat Reyim in the Burke/Springfield area. Yad Shalom also provides
religious and Torah training for prospective Bar/Bat Mitzvah students.

Adult Beginning Hebrew
Congregation Yad Shalom plans to hold an adult beginning Hebrew
class in 2008. If you are interested in learning Hebrew basics, we want to hear from you. Classes
will be held once a week for 90 minutes. The day of the week depends on you, our intended
students. Please contact us to express your interest and identify the day and
time that is most convenient for you.
Parsha
Yad Shalom endeavors to provide a d'var torah at each service
in fulfullment of the mitzvah to continue learning. Please attend services and vigorously
discuss that week's parsha
